I can’t remember when it started; the desire to take photos… but I know there will never be a day where I lose it.

I’m Talyssa, the face of FRANKIE AND FOLK. I’m a part time photographer, full time dreamer & a mother to two incredible children.
I cannot really think of any “beginnings” of my artistic journey that don’t sound like the rest -
”I grew up with a camera in my hand”
”I was given a camera for my birthday”
”I look back on images & wish I had more”
But we all know that cliche’s are just a common truth.
I have always been curious to see how people move through the world. How they hold themselves in times of grief, in times of deep love & in times of heartache. Whatever season of life people are in, people who are loved deeply and deeply love, always seem to seek & find a different type of wander in the other that I want to capture.
I have a busy but intentional mind and images tend to slow it all down for me. They capture the essence, the being, the spirit in the moment. As a session of mine flows, it will tend to take on a platform of comfort & the humans I create with, usually begin to lead the show.
My sessions are about intentional movement, fun & connection; always connection.
As a mother, I am to lead by example; by words but more importantly by action.
So I lead in boldness, in bravery, in kindness. To move through the world unapologetically in who I am & what I have to gift people.
